Your first visit will include a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health concerns, plus a complete history and examination to determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for your case. Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings and tell you his recommendations for treatment.
After a thorough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard orthopedic, neurological, postural, and physical examinations. The doctor will gain valuable information regarding your condition so he may have a better understanding of how he will be able to help you. If necessary, the doctor may take x-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures. If you case requires immediate attention, care will be administered.
The office participates in many insurance programs and also accepts auto accident liens and workers compensation cases. Our fees are typical of chiropractic offices. For new patients, payment is due at the time of the service (cash, check, MC/Visa/Discover). For established patients with insurance, we will bill insurance when provided with your insurance address and group number. You will be billed for any difference between our regular fees and what your insurance or PPO pays if you use your out-of-network option.
Here is what you should expect on your initial visit...
Once you have completed a written description of your current problem and related history, the doctor will sit down and discuss your problem in depth with you in order to understand your problem from your point of view. During this consultation, the doctor will discuss your overall health and your previous medical history. He will then explore what options are available to you and how you can achieve maximum health and vitality.
You will receive a thorough orthopedic, chiropractic and neurological evaluation, which includes range of motion tests, structural tests, postural assessment, as well as tests found only in alternative medicine to find the root cause of the problem. The specific part of the spine that may be contributing to the disease is identified and ancillary systems checked. Your first examination will allow the doctor to gain a complete understanding of your condition. In most cases, the exam will also include an x-ray so that alignment of your spine can be assessed and any subluxations located. Depending upon your injury, other advanced testing may be required, such as electromyography, M.R.I., Cat-Scan, or blood work ensure that your condition is properly diagnosed.
X-rays are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of a patient. the need for x-rays is considered on a case-by-case basis. Pregnant patients are not x-rayed. The x-ray equipment is state-of-the-art for imaging. Spinal x-rays in a standing position allow the doctor to observe normal spinal curves and angles. They are also valuable to rule out fractures or tumors.
On your return visit, the doctor will discuss his findings with you in order to give you a thorough understanding of your examination results and what they mean regarding your condition. If x-rays were taken, he will review those with you and clarify how they help to direct the best treatment plan. He will then discuss with you which chiropractic options are best for you in regard to your return to good health and inform you of the length of time that deemed appropriate to heal your current condition.
Treatment will be tailored to each individual's needs as well as choice. It may consist of one spinal adjustment or comprise of several visits, based on the individual's treatment (health) goals. The gentle yet effective alignment of the body is interactive with the patient, gentle enough for kids, yet able to restore function and movement to both the athlete and the senior. Most patients begin to see results from the very first adjustment.
